Travel | Milliken Creek Inn Napa Valley
Nestled in the mountains of California you can find all types of hotels. We were lucky enough to enjoy two completely different hotels, offering their own unique style by Four Sisters Inns Hotels. I would like to mention both of these areas were impacted by the fires, not directly on their property, but in the surrounding area. Our stay was not just amazing, but it was heartwarming to see the hotel and community was in such great spirits. If you are debating on visiting this area, do not think twice about the fire damage, this community and the others affected have been rebuilding since day 1, and they have done an outstanding job! As we talked with locals, their main response was to let the world know they still have beautiful sights to see and they want people to come and enjoy.
Milliken Creek Inn in Napa Valley; As you drive through the curving roads, you will soon approach this luxurious Bed&Breakfast. Set on the banks of a creek that runs behind the property, sits 12 rooms of relaxation. The front desk was located in the main building, where you could also enjoy freshly baked cookies, free wine and cheese pairings at night that they dupe “magic hour” along with over a hundred DVD’s to enjoy. Our room was on the first floor, with a refreshing patio that led to the community fire pit overlooking the creek. The king sized bed was one of the best hotel mattresses we have ever slept on, along with the ambiance of the room. There was a gas fireplace in the corner of the room right next to two love seats and the TV. A spacious hotel room is a must when you travel, Milliken Creek Inn gives you that home away from home feeling in their suites! The bathroom had a double vanity, with a state of the art jacuzzi tub. The frameless shower was inclosed along the side, running about 10 feet across and 4 feet wide. The toilet was in a separate room with natural light.
Some our favorite highlights at Milliken Creek Inn was the morning breakfast in bed, wine and cheese tastings from local family vineyards and the romantic and relaxing courtyards around the property. David the general manager was very hands on at Milliken Creek Inn and helped us coordinate some of the area’s best experiences for wine tasting. Porter Family Vineyard was tucked away on the side of a mountain. This vineyard is by appointment only for a private tour, making this a must see if you are near the area. You get to walk around the property, while workers are going through every process of the winemaking industry and experience. The underground cave and tasting area are truly one of a kind. Round Pond Estate gives you a true feeling of the beauty of a vineyard by driving to the main building through a quarter mile driveway lined with trees. As you walk through the main door, you’re greeted with a quick tour and shown to your tasting table on the balcony looking over the property. Not only do they offer amazing wines, but just up the road they make their own olive oils and vinaigrettes.
Thank you Milliken Creek Inn for hosting us.
