DIY My Home
These past few weeks for me have been SO busy. I have been trying to set up our home. We moved in about a week and a half ago. We moved up here to Canada with no furniture, so I have had to purchase on a small budget. It has been a chalenge. I wanted to show you all my DIY table and curtains. I found a estate sale and bought a dining table with 4 chairs for our kitchen area for $40, but it needed a lot of work. So I had a vision for it, and I think it came out great.
I forgot to take a photo of the before table and chairs, so this is the first photo I took.
The chairs and table were a dark cherry wood. BLAH. They were old scratched and changing colors.
I wanted to paint it, I figured white would look best in our home and I like netural clean colors.
Here is a photo of me painting the chairs:
Then I covered the cushions in a fabric. This fabric was actually a cotton shower curtain that I found on a clerance rack one day. I loved the pattern and the thickness of the curtain. I bought the curtain to use as a fabric one day, because I could of never found that much fabric for $1.50!
Here is the before cushion on the left and the new on the right.
Here is the AFTER!
Ah, I just love the patterns on the chair.
I think that the white makes the chairs look so modern and brings out a contemporary design.
Here is the dining area in our home.
I hung white curtains and our vintage gold “bar cart” is in the corner.
This is my favorite room in the house now.
Then yesterday I had another vision. I had left over fabric and wanted to put it to use.
So here came my vision for the other side of the dining room.
The kitchen.
We have this window that hangs in the middle of our all white cabinets.
It needed color, and so I went to town and MADE A CURTAIN!
Um, yes, I made this curtain. All I had was fabric and I put this guy together.
I folded over the top and made a whole so that I could slide my bar in.
Then I folded over each side so that it had a straight end on each end of the curtain, and hung it!
Before:
I think it adds a little extra to our white wall white cabinets kitchen, and brings it all together!
Hope you like me sharing a bit of home stuff.
PS.. TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY! YAY!
