How to install presets in Lightroom Mobile:
- You must only click the download link from a computer. The link will not load on an iPhone as the file is very large. Once unziping the file from download on your computer, airdrop the .DNG file to your mobile phone. (If you only have a pc you can email the unzipped files one by one to your email on your phone). —if you try to open the image on your computer it will NOT open as the image is only supported on the phone with Lightroom
- Go to your Lightroom Mobile app and at the bottom click the image box with a + sign to upload an image.
- Select the image (will be a blank image in your camera roll that says DNG when looking at the photo to upload in your camera roll) you just downloaded on your mobile phone into your lightroom app.
- The image will appear, with the preset settings already on the photo once imported and click the check mark in the corner to confirm.
- When viewing the image at the top right corner click the (…) and click the CREATE PRESET button
- Select all boxes except geometry and tools and name your Preset what you would like (sometimes just calling them 1,2,3,4 is easy enough) —-repeat these steps for all 4 presets, the image imported will all be the same image but all have a different preset on the same photo so you can see the difference of each preset on the same image.
- The shop dandy preset is now installed in your Lightroom App.
- Go back to your upload section in the app and add in your photo you would like to add the preset to.
- Scroll to the far end and see the PRESET tab, there you will find the presets you have just added. Click the preset that bests fits your photo! (adjust exposure as necessary)

When you apply a preset to an iPhone photo always be sure to adjust the exposure. iPhone photos are always shot in an overexposed setting due to the lens on the iPhone. Most of the time I bump my exposure to -5 or -10 when I am applying a Preset to an iPhone image. Sometimes I drop it all the way to -20 -30 if I was in the middle of the day.
Be sure to always play with the exposure if you think your preset image it is too bright. Bump up the highlights to -50 or higher if you feel the preset does not give your image enough bump of color or pop and is still too bright! Play with the shadows between 50 to 100 depending on the outfit/background/sunlight.
When you apply the preset to a RAW image you do not have to adjust the exposure so low, most of the time you shoot with a DSLR underexposed and allow the preset to brighten up the image, it keeps the true image!
